2. Master the Exam "Command Words"

Why it matters: IGCSE mark schemes are notoriously specific. Misinterpreting the key verb in a question can cost you easy marks.

Action Plan:

  • State / Name: Give a direct answer without explanation.
  • Describe: State what happens step-by-step.
  • Explain: State why or how something happens using logical reasoning or "because".
  • Evaluate: Discuss both pros and cons before reaching a justified conclusion.
